I solo-hiked from Innsbruck to Dolomites (San Martino di Castrozza) in 12-days, spending the first half in the Austrian Alps, and then the next half in the North half of the Alta Via 2. I planned everything by myself, relying on hut booking systems, emails and phone calls to reserve my spot. I am going to share my experience, highlight some of the planning considerations, and provide some of the best resources I have come across.

My personal opinion is that planning your own multi-day hikes are the best, because you can adjust the itinerary based on the distances so that you can maximize your time enjoying the whole hike. Often times, I hear people who follow guided trails, and end up hiking for 3 hours and not doing anything for a whole day.

I am happy to share my experience or help with planning so reach out on instagram / telegram if you have any questions!
